 Model Release
By law, all participants of a photo shoot must sign a model release.  Parents must sign for their minor children. In basic terms, my release form states that the client recognizes me as the copyright holder of all image and that I may use images for marketing purposes, both in print and online.  However, I will always honor the client's preferences as to how their photographs are or are not used.

Image Disc
Because my style of photography is such that every image I create for my clients is unique in one way or another, I do not believe in forcing my clients to select only a handful of  precious photographs to be printed at exorbitant rates. Instead, I provide my clients with a cd or dvd with their images in both high resolution format for prints, and low resolution format for easy web use. Most images are made available in both color and black & white, although as the artist I retain the right to choose one format or the other for all images.

Archiving Service
As part of my service, I do my best to archive all images I create for clients. However, this is not a guaranteed service and I strongly recommend clients create a copy of their image disc as soon as it is received. Replacement discs are $25. Alternatively, clients may opt to have me create a second disc for them at the time of service for an additional $10.

Printing Your Photos

Print Authorization
A signed authorization for making prints is included with each image disc. Clients are free to make as many prints of their images as they please. Because the prints you make are the finished product of my work that everyone sees, it is very important to me that my work is well represented. I request that clients have images printed only by printers I have carefully selected and approved.

Where To Make Prints
Suffice it to say, print makers are not created equally. Most people do not realize there is a lot of difference in color/quality between what I create on my calibrated monitor and what is created in a print. Since the print is the final product of hours of work that everyone sees, it is especially important to me that the prints you make do my work justice.  Currently, I recommend clients use either myPhotopipe or Mpix for all prints. My monitor is calibrated to match their printing equipment which means your prints will look the way I intend. You’ll find their rates are comparable to all digital print makers and the shipping costs are negligible when considering the quality of print.  I have made test prints from several One-Hour printers including Costco, Fred Meyer, Rite Aid and Walgreens as well as online printers SnapFish and ShutterFly and found the quality of prints from all of these retailers to be unacceptable.

Matte vs. Glossy Finish
It is standard for portraits to be printed using a matte or lustre finish paper. I ask that my work is always printed using matte or lustre finish paper. Both myPhotopipe and Mpix have a variety of quality, affordable paper options for making beautiful prints.

Image Cropping
Your images are created at a standard 4x6 inch size. This means what you see in the digital files is what you will see in a standard 4x6 inch print. Enlarging photographs to 5x7 and 8x10 requires that small portions of the images to be cropped out.  I specifically create every image to look exactly as you see it in your digital file and prefer as little cropping be done to photos as possible. To avoid cropping, I suggest that clients consider enlarging their images to 8x12 instead of 8x10. Frames are available in  this size at many online locations. Please do not hesitate to contact me for help with this! It's very important to me that your photos look the way I intended!
